Alabama football took a step forward in its push for 2023 defensive end, Yhonzae Pierre with an ‘amazing’ visit last weekend.
Pierre currently attends Eufaula High School in Eufaula, Alabama. He has seen his recruitment continue to grow over the last couple of months. The rising junior has pulled in 15 D1 offers since April 1st.
The Crimson Tide were the 11th program to offer Pierre when they extended an offer to him in May. LSU, Georgia, Florida State, Penn State and Florida followed to push Pierre’s offer total to 16.
The in-state prospect said his visit to Tuscaloosa was a great one.
“Everything was just amazing,” Pierre said. “They have a good program in so many ways. It is great academic-wise and with all of the things they have to offer their players.”
Pierre got an opportunity to view the Crimson Tide’s facilities during the visit, but it was the accolades the program boast that caught his eye.
“The rings, the trophies, the championships and all of those things really stood out,” said Pierre.
The Eufaula product got an opportunity to speak with Nick Saban during his time in Tuscaloosa. Saban told the 6-foot-4 225 pound defensive end he believed he would be a good fit for their defensive scheme.
“He told me he believes I can be a great edge rusher for them at the jack position,” Pierre said. “I can rush from there and drop back in coverage. He said he like my long arms and my work ethic.”

The state of Alabama is absolutely loaded with talent in the 2023 recruiting class. The Tide will look to take advantage of this in-state talent and have taken a step forward in doing so by impressing Pierre.
“They are right at the top after the visit,” Pierre said.
