Nick Saban and Alabama football continued its push to add lengthy defensive backs to the Crimson Tide’s secondary by offering 2023 four-star safety, Elliot Washington earlier this week.

Washington holds 19 D1 football offers. He has seen a huge boost in his recruitment since May with him receiving 14 of his 19 offers since May 1. The Venice, Florida product earned an Alabama offer after working out in Tuscaloosa Monday.
“I found out after finishing my workout with coach (Nick) Saban and coach (Jay) Valai,” Washington said. “I felt super excited to earn the offer from coach Saban and Alabama. It was a great feeling.”
Alabama football has won six National Championships with Saban as its head coach. Like many recruits, Washington grew up watching The Crimson Tide with Saban at the helm. The Tide’s winning ways make the program really attractive to the four-star recruit.
“I mean it is Alabama,” said Washington. “They are National Champions and always have a chance each year. I want to be a part of a winning program if possible.”
Saban has also put an emphasis on recruiting defensive backs, who can play all over the secondary. Washington has shown the potential to that at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds.
“They feel with my size and speed, I am versatile and can play cornerback, nickel or safety, basically any spot in secondary,” Washington said.
