BREAKING: 4-Star OL Tyler Booker commits to Alabama over Florida and Georgia

Tyler Booker announced his verbal commitment to Alabama Friday.

Booker is the Crimson Tide’s eleventh commit in the 2022 recruiting class and their first offensive line pledge. He is rated as a four-star recruit on most recruiting sites. The IMG Academy product product chose Alabama over Florida, Georgia and others.

Alabama has been working to build a relationship with Booker for several months. The Tide’s offensive line coach Doug Marone played a huge role in Alabama doing so.

“Our relationship is growing,” Booker told Touchdown Alabama in March. “I feel like I have a real relationship with coach Marrone because of the North East vibe we share. We have a lot in common. Our mindset is different. Down south people have a certain mentality and vibe, the West coast has a certain mentality and vibe, but that North East vibe is different. It is really one of a kind. To have that with a coach where I might be going to a school at is special.”

JC Latham, Alabama’s freshman offensive lineman, played with Booker IMG Academy for a couple of years. The two have been able to build a close relationship.

“It would mean a lot to play with him again,” Booker said. “JC is like my blood brother. I would do anything for him. To be able to play with him again will be something great because we did something that was never done before at IMG, and we possibly can do something that has never been done at Alabama.”

Booker currently stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 325 pounds. He has the potential to be an offensive tackle or an offensive guard at the next level.
