People joke about the University of Alabama being team No. 33 in the National Football League, but Nick Saban has built the Crimson Tide into a pro football factory.
Since 2009, he has placed 106 athletes in the NFL Draft.

In today’s game, over 80 percent of the league has at least one former Alabama player.
Coach Saban will have three of his former quarterbacks – Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, and Mac Jones – starting week one of this season. According to Elias Sports, Alabama football has the most players on active NFL rosters heading into the regular season.
The five schools with the most players on active NFL rosters as the season begins, per @EliasSports:
1. @AlabamaFTBL: 53
2. @OhioStateFB: 50
3. @LSUfootball: 46
T-4. @GeorgiaFootball: 35
T-4. @NDFootball: 35— Field Yates (@FieldYates) September 7, 2021
The Crimson Tide is ahead of Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, and Notre Dame. This provides another recruiting tool for Saban as he continues to widen the gap as the best head coach in college football. On Sunday, fans will be seeing a lot of ‘Bama on Bama.’
Saban will be excited to watch his guys in the NFL, following his home opener against Mercer on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
