The Alabama coaching staff selected 12 players of the week following Alabama’s dominant 42-21 win over Ole Miss last Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The starting offensive line (Evan Neal, Javion Cohen, Darrian Dalcourt, Emil Ekiyor Jr., Chris Owens and Kendall Randolph) and Brian Robinson Jr. on offense; Will Anderson Jr., Jordan Battle, DeMarcco Hellams and Phidarian Mathis on defense; and Jaylen Moody on special teams all earned the recognition for their play in the win over the Rebels.
OFFENSE
Offensive Line
- Alabama’s starting five of Evan Neal, Javion Cohen, Darrian Dalcourt, Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Chris Owens, along with hybrid tight end/offensive lineman Kendall Randolph helped provide holes for the Tide to rack up 210 yards rushing on 50 carries
- The group also provided a pocket for Bryce Young to finish 20-of-26 passing for 241 yards
- UA’s offense finished with 451 yards and 27 first downs on 76 total plays as the Tide cruised to victory
Brian Robinson Jr.
- Rushed for a career-high 171 yards and four touchdowns on 36 carries, also a career-best
- Became one of just nine players in Alabama history to rush for four-plus touchdowns and the first since Trent Richardson in 2011
- Converted eight first downs on top of his four scores while averaging 4.8 yards per carry on the night
DEFENSE
Will Anderson Jr.
- Finished with a career-high nine total tackles in the top-15 matchup
- Spent the night in the Ole Miss backfield, recording a team-high 2.5 tackles for loss (-9 yards) to go with one sack (-6 yards)
- Also added a pair of quarterback pressures, part of the Tide’s seven against the Rebels
Jordan Battle
- Posted nine total tackles on the night
- Came up big on multiple occasions, including a stop on fourth down to force a turnover at the Tide’s six-yard line on Ole Miss’ first drive of the game
- His stop set the tone for the defense as UA limited the Rebels to 5-of-14 on third down and 2-of-5 on fourth downs
DeMarcco Hellams
- Led the Crimson Tide defense in tackles with 11
- Totaled four key third-down stops to help force two punts and a pair of turnovers on downs
- Helped Alabama limit the high-powered Ole Miss offense to only 21 points, a staggering 31.7 points below their season average
Phidarian Mathis
- Accounted for three total tackles, including a sack (-7 yards)
- Also pressured the quarterback once while forcing a fumble that led to Crimson Tide points
- Played a key role on the Tide’s defensive front that limited the Rebels to only 78 yards rushing
SPECIAL TEAMS
Jaylen Moody
- Made a big stop on kickoff coverage to limit the Ole Miss returner to a 22-yard gain
- His stop put the Rebels in unfavorable field position with an eventual fumble giving the Tide the ball inside the red zone
