Alabama slides to No. 5 in both national polls after loss to Texas A&M

After spending the first five weeks in the No. 1 spot, Alabama dropped four spots to No. 5 in both the AP Top 25 and the AFCA Coaches Poll.

The Crimson Tide suffered its first loss of the season against unranked Texas A&M 41-38 thanks to a last-second field goal from kicker Seth Small.

Georgia claimed the top spot in both rankings after spending a majority of the season one spot behind the Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs took 64 of the 65 first-place votes in the Coaches Poll while receiving all 62 first-place votes in the AP Top 25.

Iowa was the team to claim one first-place vote in the Coaches Poll.
