It didn’t take long for Alabama to get back into the top four as the Crimson Tide secured the No. 4 spot in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll rankings following its 49-9 victory over Mississippi State.
The Crimson Tide was previously slated in the No. 5 spot going into its game against the Bulldogs but thanks to the dominating win along with Iowa’s loss to unranked Purdue aided Nick Saban’s team back in the playoff picture.
The SEC was represented by six teams in both the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 which was tied for the lead with the Big Ten.
