He won a national championship at Alabama, but Jared Mayden has found a new NFL team.
After being released from the San Francisco 49ers, Mayden signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad.

He announced the news on Twitter as he rejoins Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Landon Dickerson. Mayden, a native Texan, was a defensive back for the Crimson Tide from 2016 to 2019. He arrived as a four-star prospect and became a part of two Southeastern Conference championship teams (2016, 2018) and a College Football Playoff national title team in 2017.

Mayden enjoyed his best year as a senior in 2019.
He totaled 59 tackles, three pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, and a team-high four interceptions. Mayden went undrafted in 2020, but he signed to the 49ers’ practice squad. He played in two games against New England and New Orleans; however, the situation did not pan out in San Francisco. Mayden has a clean slate in Philadelphia and looks forward to making something of it.
