Normally a Thursday practice would contain hours of harsh game prep but this week is much different. This week is filled with cupcakes and smiles a Crimson Tide enjoy its bye week and celebrate the birthday of head coach Nick Saban.
Saban, who turns 70 on Sunday, celebrated with his team ahead of practice with the Alabama Football team’s social media providing fans an inside look at the party.

Although it is a milestone birthday week for the seven-time national champion, Saban is using his time to get ahead in recruiting for the years to come. Saban may also be a tough shopper around this time of the year as he shared that his birthday wish list is rather blank.
“Nothing for me,” Saban said on Wednesday. “I’m getting along fine. If there’s something out there I want, we usually just go get it. I can’t think of anything right now that I really want.”
Saban may not be looking for a fresh pair of shoes or a new hat, but would rather wish for another national championship trophy for the Crimson Tide’s case.
