Henry Ruggs involved in serious car accident in Las Vegas

UPDATE: TMZ Sports has now updated the story on Ruggs. One person involved in the car crash has died.

Police told TMZ that Ruggs crashed his Chevrolet Corvette into a Toyota Rav4, and the Toyota caught on fire. Law enforcement officials also said Ruggs showed “signs of impairment” at the scene. He will be charged with driving under the influence (DUI), resulting in death.

One of the best receivers to come through Alabama football was in a scary moment this morning.

Henry Ruggs III was in a serious car accident, according to TMZ Sports.

He got selected by the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 12 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. The incident happened at central Las Vegas Valley around 3:40 a.m. A source close to Ruggs told TMZ that the second-year player is expected to be okay. The conditions of others from the car wreck are unknown. No one knows if drugs or alcohol were present at the point of the car wreck.

Ruggs, a native of Montgomery, Ala., caught 24 career touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.

He was on Alabama’s national championship team in 2017.
