Alabama football’s coaching staff named seven players of the week after the Crimson Tide’s win over the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl.
John Metchie was the only offensive player selected. He finished Saturday’s game with 13 receptions for 150 yards. The Canadian native also pulled in the game-winning catch on a two-point conversion.
Will Anderson, Jordan Battle, Phidarian Mathis and DeMarcco Hellams were named defensive players of the week by the Tide’s coaching staff. Alabama’s defense limited the Tigers to 22 yards on the ground and 137 passing yards. Auburn’s quarterback, TJ Finley was sacked six times by the Tide’s defensive group.
Khyree Jackson and Will Reichard were named the special teams players of the week.
