Georgia dominated for the first 12 games of the season.
But not on Saturday.
In upset fashion, Alabama defeated the Bulldogs winning its second SEC Championship in a row.
Quarterback Bryce Young gave a heroic performance in the matchup passing for over 400 yards and three touchdowns on what was considered to be the top defense in the country. Even without wide receiver John Metchie in the second half, Young got the job down with the help of Slade Bolden and Jameson Williams.
Williams was the top target on the day for the Crimson Tide as he recorded seven catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Before leaving Metchie was the team’s second-leading receiver with 97-yards and a touchdown.
Alabama’s offensive line was night and day from a week ago in terms of the pass protection as Young was not sacked once from the Georgia defense.
The Crimson Tide’s defense came up with a number of timely stops of its own especially on third down as it held the Bulldogs to just three conversions on 11 attempts.
Safety Jordan Battle also added a score to the game with a pick-six in the third quarter of action.
With its win today, Alabama has once again secured a spot in the college football playoff.
