Alabama players were disappointed that Will Anderson is not a Heisman finalist, but the Crimson Tide is pulling in awards and recognition.
The Southeastern Conference selected ten Alabama players to its 2021 team.

Bryce Young, Evan Neal, Jameson Williams, and Brian Robinson were first-team selections on offense. Will Anderson and Jordan Battle made first-team on defense. John Metchie was chosen for second-team on offense, while Jalyn Armour-Davis, Henry To’oto’o, and Phidarian Mathis were second-teamers on defense. Williams earned second-team All-SEC honors on special teams.
The Associated Press has unveiled its SEC Players of the Year and All-SEC team. According to the publication, Bryce Young (quarterback) and Will Anderson (linebacker) are players of the year in the SEC. Young won on offense, and Anderson got the honor on defense. DeVonta Smith (offense) and Patrick Surtain II (defense) won the honors in 2020 for Alabama per the AP.
Jameson Williams earned Co-Special Teams Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Tennessee’s Velus Jones Jr.
Young and Anderson led the Tide to an SEC Championship and a trip to the College Football Playoff.
Young looks to become the first quarterback in Alabama history to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy. He is the favorite to win the award, especially after his performance against Georgia. Young set an SEC title game record for passing yards (421) and totaled four touchdowns. Alabama players awarded first-team and second-team honors via the AP are below.
