Young turned in an incredible year highlighted by 4,322 passing yards and 43 touchdowns.
He dominated Georgia’s defense in the SEC Championship Game with 421 yards (SEC title game record) and four touchdowns. Young earned Associated Press Player of the Year, Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Year, and Maxwell awards. According to ESPN’s College GameDay crew, he is the unanimous choice for the Heisman. Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso both picked Young.
The fan vote for GameDay picked the Alabama signal-caller too. He looks to become the fourth player in the Nick Saban era to secure the coveted bronze award.
