Earl Little Jr. chose to sign with Alabama football over Florida State and Miami on National Signing Day.
Little is a product of American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida. He garners a four-star rating according to multiple recruiting sites. The Crimson Tide have prioritize Little throughout the 2022 recruiting cycle.
It is not surprising that Alabama is the choice for Little because he has consistently said Alabama was his top school for several months.
“They are definitely at No. 1,” Little told Touchdown Alabama after his official visit in November. “Me and coach Valai talk the most. Me and coach Saban talk at least once a month, but that is my guy. I am closest to coach Valai. We talk almost every day.”
Little is listed at 6-foot and 175 pounds. He is one of the most versatile defensive back prospects in the 2022 class. He has the potential to play all over the secondary at the next level wit his ability to anticipate where a play is going.
Little’s father and former NFL cornerback, Earl Little sr. said he feels Earl Little Jr. draws comparison to Minkah Fitzpatrick.
“I was watching the all-turnover highlights of Alabama’s 2016 defense, and I saw Minkah Fitzpatrick had about three big plays in there,” Little said. “As I am watching, I said man that reminds me of Earl. I was on the phone with Alabama’s defensive back coach Jay Valai, and I told him about it and he said that is exactly how they were going to play him if he went there. He mostly plays on an island at the star position at Heritage. We can send him to blitz, and he can fill the b-gap against the run. You have a guy who is a physical that can cover the slot and play the run. That is why I think his ceiling is so high and why Nick Saban likes him so much.”
