Touchdown Alabama rate Murphy as a five-star recruit. He is a product of Unity Reed High School in Manassas, Virginia and has been verbally committed to Tide since July. Alabama beat out Ohio State, Georgia and others to grab a verbal commitment from Murphy.
The five-star recruit said he chose Alabama because he felt it was the best fit.
“Alabama just seemed like the best fit for me overall,” Murphy said. “I feel like my skillset and work ethic meet the Alabama standard.”
Murphy plays with his hair on fire and flies all over the football field. He has great closing speed on the football in the open field and blitzes with aggression. He has grown as a pass defender and his senior stat line proves it.
The Virginia native finished the season with 113 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, six sacks and two interceptions. He won the high school Butkus Award earlier this month for his impressive senior season.
