Alabama has players entering the transfer portal and declaring for the NFL Draft.
DeMarcco Hellams, a junior defensive back, provided an update on his successful surgery.
He dealt with a bone bruise and a high ankle sprain in the 2021 season, but no one knows what he had operated on him. As a native of Washington, D.C., Hellams shared the news via Snapchat. He finished third on defense for total tackles (88) and had 2.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, one quarterback hurry, and three interceptions. Hellams output for picks shared the team lead with Jalyn Armour-Davis and Jordan Battle. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder is draft-eligible, but Hellams may return to the Tide.
