Nick Saban hits a home run from the NCAA transfer portal again.
He grabbed Henry To’oto’o (Tennessee) and Jameson Williams (Ohio State) in 2021, and both succeeded.
Alabama picked up Eli Ricks (LSU), Jahmyr Gibbs (Georgia Tech), and Sunday brought a new name. Jermaine Burton entered the portal after two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. He took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa and the receiver has committed to the Crimson Tide. Alabama is losing Williams and John Metchie to the NFL Draft, so it is huge to have Burton.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder caught 26 passes for 497 yards and five touchdowns last year.
He totaled 53 receptions for 901 yards and eight scores in two years. Burton possesses SEC experience, size, routes, hands, and speed. He will make the competition for “X” and “Z” interesting in spring football. After helping the Bulldogs win a national championship, Burton chose to finish his career elsewhere.
