Rising 2024 prospect, Damian Thompson has three Power 5 offers, and his recruitment is just beginning.
Thompson is a sophomore at Mars Hill Bible School in Florence, Alabama. His recruitment is in full swing with early offers from Georgia, Louisville and Ole Miss. All three offers came after Thompson put together a superb sophomore season for the Panthers.
Alabama football has started to show interest in the in-state recruit. The Crimson Tide got him on campus for an unofficial visit last weekend.
“It was great,” Thompson told Touchdown Alabama. “All the coaches that I talked to made it seem like they really want me to make it to the next level.”
The sophomore got an opportunity to catch up with Alabama’s defensive line coach and in-state area recruiter, Freddie Roach and other members of the Tide’s coaching staff. He said he could tell Alabama’s coaches put their players first.
“I loved that all the coaches and staff want to make sure that I do what I need to do to make it to the next level,” Thompson said “They have a personal connection with their players. I think it is a great program to get you to the next level, and they give you everything you need to get there.”
Thompson is listed at 6-foot and weighs 165 pounds. He put on a show in all three phases of the game last season and the sky is the limit for what position he will play at the next level. He is dangerous as a returner on special teams with his impressive second gear in the open field.
The Mars Hill Bible product is also an above-average route runner who can get behind a defense with his elite speed and make some impressive catches down the field as a wide receiver. He attacks the football as a defensive back and can climb the ladder to make plays on the football at its highest point. He is a threat to score every time he touches the football and college coaches are torn on what position he will play at the next level.

Alabama football has offered a few in-state 2024 recruits and several 2024 prospects from Alabama are starting to collect some big-time offers. This class is shaping up to rival the state’s impressive 2023 class.
Damian Thompson is in the conversation to be rated as a four-star recruit at worst, and everyone should keep an eye on him in the future.
