Alabama football is not expected to make a lot of noise on National Signing Day after securing a top recruiting class during the early signing period.
However, there are two commitment announcements Alabama fans will want to pay attention to Wednesday. The Crimson Tide are among the finalist for three-star offensive lineman, Jalen Farmer and three-star tight end, Danny Lewis Jr.
Farmer is verbally committed to Florida. He received an offer from Alabama last week, and the Tide got him on campus last weekend for an official visit. He will announce his decision at 8 a.m. CST from Eastside High School’s auditorium.
Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky and Florida are Farmer’s finalists. Farmer is listed at 6-foot-5 and weighs 325 pounds. He primarily played guard during his senior season, and he made some punishing blocks with his strong punch.
Lewis will announce his commitment on Wednesday morning as well. He is expected to choose between LSU, Florida and Alabama. All three programs got him on campus for official visits this month, and all three are still in the running to land the Westgate High School (LA) product.
The Tide got Lewis on campus for an official visit a few days after offering him. The three-star tight end had a very impressive senior season. He proved to be a defensive mismatch with his 6-foot-4 frame.
The Alabama target is one of the most physical tight-end prospects in the 2023 lass. He can catch the football in traffic, and he can pick up tough yards after the catch.
Alabama football has signatures from 23 2022 prospects and would love to add Farmer and Lewis to their squad in the future.
