The ink has dried on three new coaching contracts for Alabama football.
According to Twitter, the University of Alabama made it official with Travaris Robinson, Coleman Hutzler, and Eric Wolford.
“We are pleased and happy to be able to add Coleman Hutzler, Travaris Robinson, and Eric Wolford to our coaching staff,” Nick Saban said today in a press release. “They are all talented coaches who are well respected across the country for their knowledge of the game, ability to recruit, and aptitude for teaching and developing young men both on the field and in life.”
Robinson, 40, will coach cornerbacks. He is a tremendous recruiter and developer of defensive backs. Robinson excelled at cornerback and safety at Auburn University and has experience in the Southeastern Conference coaching the position.
Hutzler will coach special teams and help with outside linebackers. He played linebacker at Middlebury College in Vermont from 2002 to 2005 and has 11 years of experience coaching the position. Hutzler has also excelled as a special teams coordinator at Florida (twice), New Mexico, Boston College, South Carolina, and Ole Miss. He has defensive coordinator experience in one season with the Texas Longhorns (2020). Hutzler has a strong footprint in the SEC, and it is going to be exciting to watch him.
Wolford, 50, coached Kentucky’s offensive line to be a finalist for the Joe Moore Award in 2021. He brought physicality to the Wildcats and South Carolina in the SEC. Wolford had success at South Florida, Houston, North Texas, and Illinois.
The Tide hired three strong coaches and three exceptional recruiters. Spring practice is going to be fun to watch.
