A native of Prattville, Ala., Perine came in 2019 as a walk-on punter. He took over the punting duties versus Tennessee in Alabama’s sixth game of the season. Perine ended the year with 13 punts for 581 yards on an average of 44.7 yards per boot.

He made the SEC’s All-Freshman Team and people thought he would become a star. Perine lost the punting battle to Charlie Scott in 2020 and James Burnip in 2021. He has two Southeastern Conference Championship rings (2020, 2021) and one College Football Playoff national title ring for 2020. Perine will march with his degree in May from the University of Alabama.
