Alabama has not only been a hotbed for NFL prospects, but every offseason it sees its assistants move on to generally bigger opportunities whether it be head coaching jobs or professional position coaches.
Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian are just a few former Nick Saban assistants to get these big jobs or reinvent their fleeting careers.
Now every time a head coach is relieved of their duties there is immediate speculation that he will be joining the Crimson Tide’s coaching staff, and Ed Orgeron has been one of those coaches.
Since he parted ways with LSU, the common assumption was that he would eventually join Saban’s staff in some capacity to get back into the head coaching world. But Orgeron emphatically put those rumors to rest on Wednesday during an appearance on WGNO ABC.
During his short segment, Orgeron said there is no way he would join Alabama in any capacity.
