Smith currently holds offers from more than 20 programs, including Georgia, Ohio State and others. He is rated as a four-star recruit by multiple recruiting outlets, and he is in the running to be one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 recruiting class.
Alabama’s cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson informed the Florida product of his offer from the Crimson Tide.
“I found out from Coach T-Rob,” Smith told Touchdown Alabama. “We had a great conversation, and he told me that I had been offered by the University of Alabama. I was excited. Alabama is a great program and was my favorite school growing up. To hear from them and get an offer is amazing.”
Growing up in Florida has allowed Smith to watch wide receivers from his home state go on to have great success within the Alabama football program. The four-star recruit said he feels the Crimson Tide’s ability to develop wideouts stands out.
“They develop the wide receiver position very well,” Smith said. “Coach Wiggins does a great job at doing that and you see how Ja’Corey Brooks comes in as a true freshman and makes an impact. That stuff stands out to me.”
Alabama hosted Smith for a visit in January. He got an opportunity to tour the Crimson Tide’s player facilities during that visit and walked away impressed with their strength and conditioning program.
“I loved how the strength and conditioning program is individualized to each player and what their weaknesses are,” said Smith. “I also was impressed with how they are very determined to keep players healthy.”
Smith is listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. Chaminade-Madonna was able to use Smith to stretch the field during the 2021 football season with his ability to catch the long ball. The new Alabama target was also effective at catching the football in traffic.
