Daniel Calhoun is closing in on 30 D1 football offers, and Alabama football is one of the programs standing out early to the 10th grader.
Calhoun currently attends Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia, and he holds 29 D1 offers. Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida are among the programs that have offered Calhoun. Alabama football extended an offer to the sophomore in October during a visit.
The 2024 prospect said he is a fan of the Crimson Tide’s player development and the Alabama standard.
“The Alabama program as a whole is great,” Calhoun told Touchdown Alabama. “I like the high standards that they uphold. The coaching staff really knows what they are doing, and their player development is really good. They send a lot of players to the draft every year.”
Alabama football got Calhoun back on campus for its junior day on Jan. 29. He left his latest visit to Tuscaloosa impressed with Alabama’s ‘weight and training room.’ Nick Saban also caught up with Calhoun during his visit to Alabama.
“We had a good conversation,” Calhoun said. “I know it is a great deal to be coached by one of the best.”
Calhoun is listed at 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds. Alabama’s coaching staff told the Georgia product they were impressed with his mobility and his footwork. Calhoun’s mobility was on full display during his sophomore season as he started at left tackle for Centennial .
