What started as a light-hearted reflection of Alabama’s quarterbacks turned into a fierce back and forth online between two former Crimson Tide signal-callers.
David Cornwell and Blake Barnett reignited what appeared to be a long-standing beef between the two as they traded blows about their talents on the field and actions off it. It began with a since-deleted Tweet which read, “Blake Barnett had so much talent… he couldn’t get out of his head.”
From there Cornwell jumped into the conversation taking a shot at Barnett’s ability which ignited the back and forth online.
Below is full beef between the two:
I was in the QB room, he really didn’t have much talent. Any other questions about the 2014-2016 seasons?

From breaking into my dorm and trashing my room (multiple times) to trashing me on social media. Glad to see you’ve become more secure in yourself. Hope all is well with you too davey https://t.co/PlAyVocmRa

Is handing over a binder of team “allegations” to the NCAA, so you can transfer without penalty trashing a program? Asking for a friend. I’ll leave it at that.

Business is boomin huh? Glad to see you’ve stepped up from selling fake Yeezys to teammates. Once again, have a good one, leave me alone. https://t.co/Qn7hyNP00i

Back in 2016 both Cornwell and Barnett competed for Alabama’s starting quarterback spot but ultimately lost to true freshman Jalen Hurts. Barnett would ultimately transfer to Arizona State in 2017 but would leave for South Florida the following year.
Cornwell would leave the Crimson Tide and transfer to Nevada before moving down to Division II where he played for East Central University.
