Nick Saban has thirteen off-field analysts on his coaching staff at Alabama, but he is about to lose one.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported last week on Mark Orphey heading to Rutgers.
Sources: Rutgers is expected to hire Alabama analyst Mark Orphey as the new corners coach and will promote quality control coach Drew Lascari to safeties coach. Longtime Greg Schiano assistant, LB coach Bob Fraser, will be moving to a senior assistant role off the field.

Orphey served as a defensive analyst for the Crimson Tide in 2021 after two seasons at Utah State as a cornerbacks coach. He worked with defensive backs at Montana State (2017-18) and Texas Southern (2011-12). Orphey was also a quality control coach (2013) and graduate assistant (2014-16) at South Carolina. He assisted the Tide to an SEC Championship behind the scenes.
