Coaches and players for the Miami Dolphins want to see Tua Tagovailoa silence his haters.

Terron Armstead, an elite offensive tackle, is a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

He spent nine seasons protecting Drew Brees for the New Orleans Saints (2013-21), and now he’s with Tagovailoa. Armstead became a fan of Brees’ preparation, accuracy, precision, communication, and leadership on offense. He does not know if Brees has a relationship with Tagovailoa, but Armstead wants to hook the two up so Brees can teach some things to the young quarterback.

“Drew is accurate as they come,” Armstead said in a presser to Dolphins reporters.

“He can knock the wind off a fly. Just watching his game and his preparation, I am excited to get around Tua and see how he prepares. I don’t know if he has a connection with Drew, but that is something I would like to bridge. Drew was such a cerebral athlete and student of the game. He saw it differently than most. If I can just connect those two. Drew would be an asset for anybody.”

Miami fans are hoping Armstead will make it happen. Tagovailoa was compared to Brees and Russell Wilson during the 2020 NFL Draft process. Brees spoke to reporters in the latter part of his career, and he was complimentary of Tagovailoa.

“I’ve seen him a little bit in just flipping through games,” Brees said of Tagovailoa. “I could not be more impressed because in the times I’ve seen him play, it’s not like he’s just throwing to really good athletes with a ton of space. He is making some legit throws down the field. He is making legit reads from what I’ve seen. I could not be more impressed. He throws the ball exceptionally well, but he appears to be a great athlete too. He runs physical, he runs tough, and he can spin it downfield too. That’s a rare combination.”

Tagovailoa has the coaching staff bought in, and he’s got offensive weapons in Miami.

Hopefully, the Dolphins will have Brees come in and encourage him.
