Mitchell is a product of Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, and he garners a five-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. He included Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oregon and Texas A&M in his top five.
The five-star defensive back recently visited Florida, Georgia and Alabama. The Crimson Tide hosted Mitchell on March 5 for their Junior Day event. Texas A&M got the Thompson product on campus in January.
At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Mitchell started at safety for the Warriors during the 2021 football season. He wrapped up his junior campaign with 55 tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions. The Alabama target has experience at playing all over the secondary, and he is one of the most complete defensive back prospects in the 2023 recruiting class.
