Summary for spring practice
Alabama football is looking for answers at the wide receiver position after losing Jameson Williams, John Metchie and Slade Bolden to the NFL.
With uncertainty surrounding Alabama’s wideout room, the Tide may lean on contributions from younger players. Kendrick Law could be one of those young guys.
Law was rated as a four-star recruit coming out of Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was listed as an athlete because of his versatility. The Louisiana product spent time at wide receiver, running back and defensive back during his time at Captain Shreve.
At 5-foot-11 and 193 pounds, Law has a thick and muscular frame. His frame allows him to absorb contact and run with toughness as a ball carrier. He also has proven speed as he clocked in a PR of 10.48 in the 100-meter dash.

Law’s skill set and physical tools open the door for him to play multiple positions for the Tide. However, the freshman is listed as a wide receiver on Alabama’s roster, and Nick Saban has been impressed with what he has seen from Law during spring practice at the position.
“He has done a good job at wide receiver,” Saban said. “He got some speed and size. He runs good routes, has good hands and has the right mindset to deal with some of the frustration that young players go through. They are trying to learn a system and making more mistakes than they are used to. He plays through it, and he has made a lot of plays. I think he is a guy that can help us if he continues to develop.”
It is not surprising that Law is getting his start in Tuscaloosa at wide receiver. He was dynamic at the position during his senior season, especially after the catch. He also displayed some great awareness when catching the football along the sideline.
If Law continues to impress the is spring, his name will be in the mix to get some playing time early next season.
