Nick Saban highlighted Brian Robinson throughout Alabama’s Pro Day.
He spoke about how Robinson’s story is one that people greatly respect. The Tuscaloosa native waited behind several running backs for his opportunity and never complained. He pushed himself, stayed prepared, overcame adversity, and took advantage of the moment in 2021. Robinson created a second to third-round draft value because of his patience.

Jaylen Moody is in the same situation. As a former three-star recruit, he arrived in the 2018 class from South Carolina.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder made plays when an opportunity came. He has played 40+ games across four seasons.
Moody replaced an injured Christian Harris in Alabama’s 2020 matchup versus Arkansas and totaled seven tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He opened the 2021 season against Miami with an interception. Moody has yet to become a starter but has positioned himself for the moment. Henry To’oto’o said he and Moody have a bond off the field. Per Saban, he wants Moody to prove to the team and himself that he can perform if he secures a starting role at inside linebacker.
“Jaylen has made a lot of positive contributions to the team,” Saban said during Alabama’s pro day on Wednesday.

“He’s been a great special teams player for us and always accepted his role in being a solid backup player. When he’s played, he has played well. When guys have been in that role, they have to understand what goes into becoming a starter. You have to challenge yourself to be ready and prepared to play with great consistency and performance.”
Moody knows that one big season can create a solid draft stock for him.
Jordan Battle, a senior safety, is excited for his teammate.
“Moody brings a lot of energy and motivation to the team,” Battle said today in media availability for players. “He waited his time, and now his time has come.”
Moody can play middle or weakside linebacker, but his four seasons in Pete Golding’s system would make him an excellent signal-caller. Coach Saban loves patient players, and Moody has the spotlight on him to excel. We will see if he becomes a starter in his final year with the Tide.
