Coach Nick Saban has more than a reigning Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback for the University of Alabama.

Bryce Young took ownership of the Crimson Tide ‘inconsistent’ performance in the second spring scrimmage, but he is very excited about this group of wide receivers. He spoke to reporters today in media availability and talked specifically about the young playmakers.

Alabama signed Aaron Anderson (five-star) and Kendrick Law (four-star) in its recent recruiting class as early enrollees.

Isaiah Bond, Shazz Preston, and Kobe Prentice will arrive in the summer.

Young also has Jermaine Burton (transfer), Traeshon Holden, Ja’Corey Brooks, Christian Leary, JoJo Earle, and Thaiu Jones-Bell. Brooks is out for spring practice with an injury, but he recorded two touchdowns in 2021. Alabama graduated Jameson Williams, John Metchie, and Slade Bolden to the upcoming NFL Draft, but it likes the playmakers it has at the position.

Young said the fresh faces possess a ‘hungry’ mindset.

“That is something that we really appreciate,” Young said about the new receivers. “These guys are coming in ready to work and willing to take every rep. They want to get coached up, and they receive coaching well. What I love about this group is they do everything full speed.”

Young stated this group of receivers wants to do the small things right.

They do not point fingers or blame others for mistakes. This group takes it upon themselves to make corrections at each practice. Young said the mindset of these receivers is the difference, and he sees great potential in them. Young is prepared to give Tide fans a show in Saturday’s spring game, and the receivers are ready to have Bryant-Denny Stadium rocking with big plays.
