Alabama has a wide receiver in Jermaine Burton that looks to be Bryce Young’s primary option, but Crimson Tide fans need to get excited about sophomore Christian Leary.
He arrived on campus as a speed threat in the 2021 class, but the former four-star has become a complete player.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder served as an emergency running back last year, but he is prepared to be an impactful receiver. Leary showed up during Alabama’s spring game and impressed fans. He worked junior Malachi Moore on a 52-yard touchdown reception from sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe and led all receivers for catches (five), yards (106), and touchdowns (one).
Leary has improved his hands and routes at the position. He’s placed himself in an opportunity to be one of the starting receivers in the coming fall. Brandon Williams, COO of Touchdown Alabama Magazine, was impressed with Leary’s A-Day outing.
He returns with a new video on the South Florida native, comparing him to Deebo Samuel.
Can Leary have a breakout season for the Tide? He now has the eyes of fans on him.
