Makari Vickers recently told Touchdown Alabama he has locked in an official visit to the University of Alabama.
Vickers currently attends St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee, Florida. He garners a four-star rating from all major recruiting outlets. The Crimson Tide will get Vickers back on his campus for an official visit from June 16 to June 18.
The Florida product has visited Alabama several times since picking up an offer from the Tide. His last visit to Tuscaloosa was in April. He said Alabama was near the top of his recruitment after visiting Tuscaloosa for A-Day.
“They are pretty high,” Vickers said. “It is Alabama. Why not them? They are building themselves a dynasty if it is not already built, so they are pretty high.”
Nick Saban has had multiple conversations with Vickers and his family while they visited in the past. During Vickers’ latest trip to Tuscaloosa, the four-star recruit talked with Saban about the future of Alabama’s depth chart.
“We talked about how the depth chart will be a little less stacked at my position next season and how I could come in and make an impact, especially with my versatility,” Vickers said.
The Alabama target is listed at 6-foot-2 and 193 pounds. The Panthers lined the versatile defensive back up at cornerback and safety throughout the 2021 football season. He also spent some time at wide receiver.
