Eighteen names made the list, including seven first-team honorees. Bryce Young (quarterback), Jahmyr Gibbs (running back), and Emil Ekiyor (offensive lineman) got the nod for the first-team offense. Byron Young (defensive end), Will Anderson (linebacker), Henry To’oto’o (linebacker), and Jordan Battle (safety) are on the first-team defense.

Young and Anderson were voted permanent team captains in 2021 by their peers. To’oto’o and Battle are on the leadership council with Young, Anderson, and DJ Dale. Ekiyor and Byron Young are veteran linemen, and Gibbs comes over as an explosive playmaking transfer from Georgia Tech. All seven names listed have an opportunity to produce a marquee season for the Tide.

Gibbs made Athlon Sports’ list as an all-purpose back and kick returner.
