The officials for Texas A&M are still bothered by Nick Saban’s comments about the Aggies’ 2022 recruiting class.
Coach Saban made the statement about how Texas A&M “bought every player in their class,” but during the SEC Meetings in Florida, he and Jimbo Fisher said they are ready to move on. The Aggies are not prepared to move on yet as reports surfaced on social media about their officials going to the Southeastern Conference and Commissioner Greg Sankey wanting a suspension and fine of Saban. Sankey did not honor Texas A&M’s request as he believes there was nothing Saban said that warranted anything.
Alabama’s matchup with the Aggies on Oct. 8 will be one to watch. The Crimson Tide may use this offseason as bulletin-board material to prepare it for the game. On Monday, Stephen Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine gave his reaction to Texas A&M’s officials wanting the SEC to take action against Saban. Smith called the move “hysterical” by the Aggies.
