Several 2024 football prospects from the state of Alabama are starting to emerge as top recruits, and Perry Thompson is one of them.

Thompson attends Foley High School in Foley, Alabama. He earned his seventh D1 offer from Alabama after visiting and camping in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is the first SEC program to offer Thompson.

The rising junior found out about his offer from the Crimson Tide during a phone call with Alabama’s safeties’ coach Charles Kelly.

“Coach Kelly gave me a call, and he told me Nick Saban liked what he saw,” Thompson said. “ I was excited. I told my mom, my uncle and the rest of my family, and they were all very excited. Alabama is a great program. I feel like I will be developed well there.”

Wide receivers have played vital roles in Alabama’s offensive scheme as of late. The Tide have also been able to produce multiple first-round draft picks at the position over the last three years. Thompson said he feels Alabama gives the wideouts an opportunity to make plays by putting the football in their hands.

“I feel like they use them very well,” said Thompson. “They know how to get them the ball.”

Thompson is listed at 6-foot-4 on Foley’s football roster, and he weighs approximately 205 pounds. He finished the 2021 football season with 661 yards and five touchdowns on 53 receptions. The Foley product plays a physical style of football, and he has a go-and-get-it attitude with his ability to high point the football and bring down catches in traffic.
