We have had the opportunity to feature Dallas Turner, Brian Branch, and Chris Braswell via In My Own Words.

All three defensive players for Alabama football told Stephen M. Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine to expect this group to become the best defense in the Nick Saban era. The Crimson Tide is coming for a College Football Playoff National Championship after losing to Georgia in 2021. Braswell, in particular, told Smith to keep his eyes on everyone defensively for Alabama in the fall.

Last week, he stated the team goal.

“We have to get better,” Braswell said about the expectation for Alabama’s defense. “Whether it is summer camp or fall practice, we have to keep getting better and win a national championship. That is the goal.”

Braswell did not share any personal goals, but he is focused on helping the team win a national title. He said fans need to be aware of everyone on defense.

“It has been wild,” Braswell said. “Everyone has been working hard. Everybody is grinding and trying to better. I’m telling you just watch us this year. The defense is going to be real.”

Braswell spoke on his defensive coordinator too. He highlighted the effort Pete Golding has put in to make sure players are in the right opportunity to execute and be successful. He enters his fifth season on Coach Saban’s staff and fourth as a play-caller.

“We are grinding as a team, and he’s grinding too,” Braswell said about Golding.

Fans want to see an elite defense. Alabama football looks to have one in action this fall.
