New Alabama WR Tyler Harrell fitting in well with his teammates

Tyler Harrell (#8) runs by Wake Forest's defense in 2021 for a Louisville touchdown

Jordan Battle is arguably the best dancer for Alabama football, but a fellow South Florida native is fitting in nicely with him and his new Crimson Tide teammates.

Tyler Harrell transferred to the Tide from Louisville via the NCAA transfer portal on April 22. He joined Jermaine Burton (formerly of Georgia) as the second veteran receiver to transfer to Alabama. The 6-foot, 194-pounder was an explosive player for the Cardinals in 2021. His acceleration and separation from defensive backs allowed him to average 29.1 yards per catch.

Harrell recorded 18 receptions — including six touchdowns — in 13 games and totaled 523 yards. Nick Saban recruited and witnessed marquee speed from Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith, Henry Ruggs III, and Jaylen Waddle.

He grabbed Jameson Williams from the transfer portal, and the Missouri native became a first-round pick. Saban is impressed by Harrell’s speed, but Tide fans should be happy to see his connection with the players. Harrell anticipates having a dominant season in this offense under Bill O’Brien.
