Makari Vickers tweeted Monday he will announce his commitment on Aug. 26.
I will be committing August 26 during halftime, which is my first home game held at Corey Field in Quincy Florida. Any and every one is welcome to support. Game starts at 7.

Vickers will attend Robert F Munroe Day School in Florida for his senior season. He is rated as a four-star recruit and is considered one of the most complete defensive backs in the 2023 recruiting class. The Florida product will choose between Alabama, Oklahoma and Michigan.
The Sooners, Wolverines and the Crimson Tide each hosted Vickers for an official visit in June. Each program is hopeful it can pick up commitment from Vickers in the near future.
Alabama football has been a major part of Vickers’ recruitment, and the Tide’s staff made sure he knew he was still a priority for them during his official.
“My biggest takeaway is how much of a priority I am to their defense with my versatility and with them losing a lot of their secondary next year,” Vickers said after his official.
The Alabama target is listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. He has experience playing safety and cornerback within the secondary.
