To little surprise, Alabama took the No. 1 ranking in the USA Today AFCA preseason Coaches Poll which was released on Monday.
Within the voting, the Crimson Tide earned 54 of the possible 66 first-place votes as the defending national champions, Georgia, earned the next most with six and Ohio State finishing just behind with five first-place votes.
Although the Bulldogs earned more first-place votes, the Buckeyes were ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation with the defending champions slated at No. 3.
The top 25 includes four other SEC teams including Texas A&M (No. 7), Kentucky (No. 21), Arkansas (No. 23) and Ole Miss (No. 24).
