Alabama football had its first scrimmage of preseason camp last week.
Coach Nick Saban addressed the reporters afterward and discussed what happened.
He highlighted freshman wide receiver, Kobe Prentice, as a standout for the young receivers. Saban also talked about improvement with the first-team offensive line, struggles on the second-team unit, running backs, defense, and special teams.
He is not disappointed with where the team is, but Saban wants to see how good the Crimson Tide can become. Cameron Latu (knee), JoJo Earle (foot), and Khyree Jackson (groin) did not scrimmage. Latu is out for a couple of weeks, and Jackson’s injury is not too serious. Earle will miss 6-8 weeks with his injury. Stephen Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine recapped the scrimmage. He broke down everything Saban went over before Alabama holds its second game-like practice this week.
