The Associated Press released its annual preseason Top 25 rankings on Monday, and once again Alabama was ranked at the No. 1 spot heading into the 2022 season. It is the seventh time the Crimson Tide has come in at No. 1 in the preseason rankings in the Nick Saban era.
Alabama received 54 0f the possible 63 first-place votes and 1,566 points overall in the Top 25. Coming in behind the Crimson Tide is Ohio State who received six first-place votes (1,506), the defending national champion Georgia was third with three first-place votes and Clemson rounded out the top four at No. 4.
The SEC was the most represented conference in the Top 25 with six teams making the cut with the ACC coming in just behind with a total of five schools in the rankings.
