5-Star DB KJ Bolden has ‘close relationship’ with Alabama

KJ Bolden after Buford game

Buford high school junior, KJ Bolden has a heavy interest in the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Bolden is rated as a five-star recruit on multiple recruiting sites, and he is considered one of the nation’s top junior prospects. Alabama offered the Buford product in December. He told Touchdown Alabama the Crimson Tide were one of his top schools after Buford defeated Thompson Friday.

“They definitely one of my top schools,” said Bolden. “I am going to drop my top schools in September, and I am going to add them in there. I have a close relationship with coach (Holmon) Wiggins and coach (Charles) Kelly.”

Bolden returned to Tuscaloosa in April for an unofficial visit. He got to catch up with Wiggins and Kelly during his April visit. The five-star recruit also chatted with Nick Saban.

“He is the G.O.A.T,” Bolden said when asked about his thoughts on Saban. “He is legendary. I would not mind playing for a coach like that.”

Bolden helped Buford defeat Thompson by playing on both sides of the ball Friday. He put Buford on the board first with a 28-yard touchdown reception. He feels he could play on either side of the ball at the next level.

“That was probably one of the hardest games I ever played even though the score does not show that,” Bolden told Touchdown Alabama. “Them boys fought. Everyone markets me as a safety, but I think I showed I can play both. We are just going to have to see what happens.”

At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Bolden made plays as a wide receiver and as a safety as a sophomore.

There is a good chance Alabama will get Bolden back on campus for a visit during the season.

“I am probably going back for the Texas A&M game,” said Bolden.
