Alabama fans have asked about Tyler Harrell since he arrived on campus in the summer.
As a transfer from Louisville, the elite speedster has explosive abilities at wide receiver.

He creates separation from defensive backs and is dynamic in space. Harrell, a South Florida native, averaged 29.1 yards per catch and tallied six touchdowns last year for the Cardinals. Coach Nick Saban told reporters earlier in fall camp that he wants to see Harrell channel his energy the right way, but he explained more on Wednesday as to why Harrell was not getting more reps.
Saban said Harrell will help the Crimson Tide.
“He had a sprained foot for a while, so he was not able to practice all the time,” Saban said. “The last scrimmage and this Tuesday and Wednesday, he is starting to get more reps. I think he’s starting to get more confident.”
Harrell continues to make progress. Saban also updated freshmen Kobe Prentice (wide receiver) and Emmanuel Henderson (running back). Both have performed well in fall camp, especially during team scrimmages. Prentice, a four-star from Calera High School, was a standout in back-to-back scrimmages. Saban said he ‘has shown promise in the slot with his quickness.’
“I think his opportunities have increased since JoJo Earle got hurt,” he said about Prentice. “He has taken advantage of it and has played fairly well. He still has a ways to go, in terms of knowledge of the system, but he has a great work ethic.”
Saban is encouraged by Prentice’s attitude and upbeat mindset.

Henderson came as a five-star running back in the 2022 class. He is receiving opportunities as a receiver and return specialist.
“He is making a lot of progress,” Saban said about Henderson. “I think he could be a good special teams player because of his speed. He’s got a great work ethic, a good person, he can help us at the position and will help us before the season is out.”
All three players are trying to land marquee roles for the team.
