Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson was shot multiple times in a robbery attempt on Sunday according to NBC 4 Washington. The injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening per the report.

Robinson was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Commanders and appeared to have been pushing for the first team running back spot on the offense. In his two preseason games, Robinson rushed the ball 14 times for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Prior to the draft, Robinson spent five seasons at Alabama with his most extensive playing time coming in 2021 when he was the team’s starting running back. In 14 games Robinson rushed for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns as he helped the Crimson Tide reach the national championship game.
