Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson was shot multiple times during a car robbery on Sunday and was reported to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The specifics of his injuries were not known until Monday when NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Robinson had been shot in the glute and lower leg.
More on Robinson:
— He was shot in the glute and lower leg, sources say, both non-life threatening.
— Football is not important here, but since we cover football: Robinson has not been ruled out for playing at some point this season. https://t.co/9ah239gNcY— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 29, 2022
But following the report, Robinson himself provided an update on his status following his surgery sharing that his surgery went well.
Commanders head coach Ron Rivera visited Robinson last night following the shooting sharing that he was in good spirits.
“I just got done visiting w/Brian,” Rivera said in a tweet. “He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support. He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them & will be back soon doing what he does best.”
