-Weaknesses: Little inconsistent finishing tackles, gets lost at times in pass coverage
SUMMARY:
Alabama’s defense was already prepped to be one of the strengths of the team, but the return of linebacker Henry To’oto’o may put it over the top.
To’oto’o returns following a solid junior season where he transferred to the Crimson Tide after beginning his career at Tennessee. From the start, To’oto’o expressed a great deal of intelligence, picking up Pete Golding’s system quickly and becoming an effective signal caller in the middle.
Now as he returns for his final season, the California native is amongst the most experienced players on the roster and looks to carry over skills from a season ago.
To’oto’o does a few areas to improve of his game, namely his consistency in pass coverage where he would be out of position at times.
But when he’s right, To’oto’o is one of the craftiest linebackers in the SEC who plays with solid leverage and is larger than his size would make you believe.
Alabama’s defense will enter 2022 with lofty expectations that seem more attainable with its leader in the middle.
