Shaun Alexander is one of the most revered Alabama football players of all time.
He dominated the 1990s in Tuscaloosa during a time when the Crimson Tide was not winning national championships.

He was a two-time 1,000-yard rusher in four years, including a single-season school record 1,383 yards in 1999.
Alexander carried the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship in ’99, while getting first-team All-SEC, first-team All-American, and SEC Player of the Year honors. Alexander is third all-time for career rushing yards (3,565) and third for rushing touchdowns (41) in school history. He turned in a nine-year career in the National Football League, including eight seasons (2000-07) with the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle took Alexander in the first round (No. 19 overall) in the 2000 NFL Draft.
He had five 1,000-yard seasons, including a 1,800+ rushing yards campaign in 2005.
Alexander recorded a career-high 1,880 yards and 27 touchdowns, en route to winning NFL’s Most Valuable Player honor. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection, an NFL rushing champion, and a first-team All-Pro selection for the Seahawks. Alexander made the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and the Seahawks’ 35th Anniversary team, but he got a special phone call on Thursday.

He is going into the franchise’s Ring of Honor in October.
Alexander was one of the greatest players in Seattle’s history, and he gets the honor fit for a legend.
