He outmatched a veteran in Kirk Cousins by having better efficiency, accuracy, timing, command of the offense, and playmaking abilities. Hurts endured a lot of criticism in the offseason when it came to is he the one at quarterback for the Eagles that could lead the franchise on a playoff run. He wants all the smoke from his critics after the work he’s put in and the performance against Minnesota’s defense. Hurts completed a career-high 83.9 percent of his passes (26-of-31) in a 24-7 victory for the Eagles.
He totaled 333 passing yards, 57 rushing yards, and three touchdowns.

Hurts, a former College Football Playoff National Champion, turned in a passer rating of 108.7. He was sharp, decisive, and looked like a young signal-caller on the rise in the National Football League. Currently, Hurts ranks in the top 10 in the league among quarterbacks for passing yards (576, seventh), quarterback rating (70.8, seventh), and passer rating (97.1, tenth).
He has always been a leader, but now Hurts is having fun. He is confident and comfortable, and Philadephia fans are feeling it.
